Wilhelmina Holder, Newark, was President of Newark Secondary Parents Council. Decades after having children in the public education system, she continues to advocate for equity and opportunity for young people in Newark Public Schools. Wilhelmina’s mantra was “An informed parent is a child’s best friend,” and her lifetime commitment to children and families has stoked her incessant drive to ensure that the voices of the community are respected. Served in various leadership roles, on policy, regulatory and advisory boards driving data-based advocacy and has created empowerment lifelines for children and their parents. 

Wilhelmina Holder of Newark, born on August 16, 1951, passed away on April 30, 2022.
