Sheryl Olitzky, North Brunswick, is founding director of Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom, whose mission is to build trust, respect, and relationships between Muslim and Jewish women and teenage girls, with 175+ chapters in the US, Canada, and select European cities. Sheryl founded SOSS in 2010, with Atiya Aftab, with the mission to build trust, respect, and relationships between Muslim and Jewish women and teenage girls. SOSS is the first national network of Muslim and Jewish women committed to living in harmony and limiting acts of anti-Muslim and anti-Jewish sentiment. The group has blossomed into a real sisterhood; sharing in public advocacy, participating in life cycle events and holiday celebrations, and have regular get-togethers. Together the women stand up for one another, educate one another about their faith and cultural practices, engage in social action, and work to end acts of hate for all human beings.
