Eddie, from Teaneck, in the face of a long history of declining health, Eddie has remained an inspiration to people who know him, as well as to people who know of him. In 1977, Eddie was diagnosed with Diabetes and later suffered from kidney failure which lead to the loss of his eye sight and the amputation of his lower legs, despite these obstacles, Eddie fed off his inner strength which by example he fosters children he coaches and teaches, Eddie’s lessons of self-worth, courage and his personal philosophy that “Life Goes On,” has won him recognition from the National Kidney Foundation as an outstanding example of courage, strength, generosity and kindness.
