Robin Reilly of Oradell, an advocate for the homeless, is an old hand at running an office to provide services for the chronic homeless during the day. Her office has been a place for them to get their mail, make phone calls for jobs or for help in getting counseling, and simply, come in out of the weather. Twice, she’s had to move out of her donated spaces, first at a church and second at the Salvation Army. Twice she took her advocacy to the streets, where she ministered to people from her van, offering food, clothing and advice, all as a volunteer. She has another office now, thanks to an anonymous donor. Operating funds come out of her pocket. She is, as she was dubbed in an editorial in The Record, “a Robin who takes the homeless under her wing.”
